NIHWA’s goal to provide our community with the following:
- Behavioural Management Skills: various forms of techniques to adapt to child’s needs and abilities
- Time Management Skills: develop consistency in the home while creating openness to learn and adapt
- Information on Autism Spectrum Disorder signs, levels and provide resources to access of services
- Cooking skills: basic to advanced cooking skills, reading cultural base recipes geared to child’s nutritional needs and wants in a fun and creative environment
- Child proofing your home awareness: knowing what steps to take at the appropriate age so everyone is safe
- To provide information concerning FAS/FAE and Fetal Smoking Syndrome
- To allow individuals in need, an opportunity to be educated on parenting to recognize and meet the needs during the developmental year of infants, toddlers, and preschool aged children
- To help parents develop traditional family values that are culturally based
- To provide an atmosphere where clients can access current information about parenting
- Provide support in the ways of one on one time; whether virtual or in person to setup/take/attend appointments with parents
